Claudia,

Our sincere sympathy in the loss of your dear husband and friend. May the Holy Spirit give you comfort in this time of sorrow. Thankfully, you have the assurance that you'll see each other again.

Debbie and I were fortunate to camp next to Jerry and Claudia at the NQC five years ago in Louisville.  We spent a very enjoyable week with our new friends not realizing the impact these people would have upon us in such a short time.  To you who called Jerry and Claudia close friends, how blessed you are now for those times spent with them.   For you who are family, how uplifting it must be to have all the precious memories to reflect upon and hold close to you in this time of loss.  Debbie and I can always remember the warm and helpful behavior of Jerry when he repaired our vehicle's electrical power system so we could return home at the end of the week from Louisville.  The Lord brought Jerry and Claudia into our lives, giving us the opportunity to see first hand how He works in all lives to create memories to carrry throughout life.  Thank God for Jerry's entrance into our lives,  and may God give peace of heart and mind to his many friends and family members during this time of grief.

Jerry will truly be missed. I called him the "king of the one-liners", Jerry always had a comment during church. Great sense of humor. Cracker Barrel on sundays just wont be the same without him. My prayers are with his family.

Thanks for the honor of knowing and sharing the wisdom of such a Great Dad, Father, Husband and Grandpa. Terry, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jerry was more than a Southern Gospel fan, he was part of our family!!  We never did know where Jerry and Claudia would show up for one of our concerts.  They were a great encouragement to us by sitting on the front row and sharing their joy-filled smiles with us through a whole concert!!!  Jerry was a precious man who was very dear to our hearts...we will miss him dearly!!  We could never wish him back for he is in a far greater place that we currently are.  We are rejoicing that Jerry is experiencing no pain and a healed body after several months of suffering.  I must share that in those last couple months, Jerry would complain of pain in his legs when we would see him.  He always told me that he had medicine to take for that pain, but he said..."I forget to remember to take it!!"...and then we would start laughing!!  He was always full of jokes or one-liners just to make us smile.  Enjoy your new home, Jerry!!!  We will miss you dearly!!  See you on the other side!!!

If there ever was a true "fan' of Southern Gospel it was Jerry. I have wondered for years why he was not voted fan of the year. I guess it's because he never remained a fan for long. You only had to meet him once and he became a friend.

Jerry never lacked for an opinion and was ready to share it. However, he was also one of the most encouraging and loving people that I have ever had the privilege to meet. Jerry was always full of fun and his smile made you have to smile along. I said he was willing to share his opinion.....well let me tell you that in doing so he taught me many life lessons and helped shape my direction and practices in ministry today.

Though the timing seems off for his leaving, the truth is that God know knew from the beginning of time when this day would come. I believe that Jerry was one of those people that made the most of everything God gave him and that he has fulfilled all that god had planned. I will say though that with this being such a surprise, it reminds me of one of Jerry's jokes and that he has beat us all to the punch.

With that I'll say Jerry we love you, we'll miss you. Please say hello to our Father and save us all a spot, we'll be there soon.

The Galloways The Galloways March 25, 2010

Out of the thousands of people who have ever attended a Galloways concert, Jerry & Claudia crossed over the point of just Southern Gospel Fans and became part of our family.  I type this with tearfilled eyes knowing we have had the honor of loving Jerry as our own.  However, we rejoice in knowing that Jerry is living what we have only read about.  Seeing what a man named John, we call the revelator, saw, and made possilbe by a man named Jesus, the son of God, who gave his life that we might have this life more abundantly.  Oh that we might strive to live a life like Jerry set the example of.
